VGES focusing in ESG and provide fixable ESG advisor structure.

Corporations, private equity and investors are recognising that it is no longer only about how a company’s operations impact the environment, its people, and the communities in which it operates, but it's also increasingly about how environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues can materially impact a company’s performance and ultimately,

its value.

With the 2020 global health crisis, global population growth, climate change, energy transition, evolving and globally-organised social and community actions on issues such as diversity and race, and ultimately adaption to the next normal, the demand for greater transparency and action around ESG has never been greater.

Overview

ESG has rapidly evolved from a perceived nice-to-have proposition to a necessary focus area for most enterprises. The 2020 global health crisis has brought attention to corporate ESG performance and values, with larger global corporations leading on ethical and positive social issues. As companies and funds adapt to the next normal, those with a stronger ESG position are outperforming those without a clear strategy.

Our ESG advisory team includes environmental, social, and corporate governance experts with international expertise and sector-specific insights. They offer tailored advice relevant to the local context, leveraging their experience in applying the VGES Corporate Governance Methodology and VGES Performance Standards within VGES investment transactions.

We collaborate with companies, banks, private equity funds, and institutional investors to integrate ESG into their decision-making and operations. Our hands-on support improves corporate governance practices and the management of E&S risks.

VGES ESG Advisory Services also includes:

  • Support to regulators in developing national ESG frameworks and monitoring implementation market-wide.

  • Capacity-building of local intermediaries, including industry associations and consultants, to promote, train, and advise on sustainability and ESG.

  • Sector-level landscape advisory for complex projects and challenging activities involving multiple developers or investors in a single geography. We address risks beyond individual company capacities through a range of services, including ESG diagnostics, assessments, analysis, cumulative impact assessments, multistakeholder engagement platforms, and the development of joint management action plans.
